I have a 1994 corolla GT with 170,000 miles. The previous owner replaced the distributor and cap, and cleaned the plugs. I have done the ac check on it, and found that it is not cold starting.
How do I get the dealer to listen to me? He refuses to check the ac check because he wants to charge me $100. He says he doesn't know what to do and that I have to go to a fob center.I know what the ac check is, and I know how to use it. He wants to charge me for the repair. I am sick of it.
Ahh...the AC Check is a great way to get the dealer to listen to you.
I'll give you some advice on the fix.
When the check is done, sit tight and wait until the Acura dealer comes to you. Tell the dealer you want him to fix it, but don't pay for it. It's likely you'll get $40 - $100 off the price, I can tell you for sure.
The next time you get to the Acura dealer, when he checks it, tell him you want a check again.
Most Acura dealers are reasonable, and will bring the car back to the shop so they can check it for you.
After the 3rd check, tell the Acura dealer "No more checks for me." He will take you back, and the car will be fully checked. He will find the culprit.
There's a lot of comments here in regards to the "charge". The dealer charges what he's comfortable with, and you can work around that, but you have to be willing to pay what you're charged. It's your call.
You do want to make sure that it's safe for you to drive, though.
